A Tree House In France

There is nothing more enjoyable than staying in a treehouse in the middle of a forest by water. There are several to choose from scattered around France. We stayed at Chateau Dans Les Arbres on a small farm situated south of Bordeaux in the French countryside. There are quaint little villages nearby and beautiful walks either through the trees or by the water. The rooms were clean and had a comfortable rustic feel to them. Prices start at €165 for two people per night.

The Bubble Hotel in Marseille

When looking for unusual places to stay in France, I started seeing these bubble hotels and they intrigued me. These bubble hotels were designed by Pierre-Stephane Dumas in transparent, recyclable material. An overnight stay allows you to sleep under the stars while you are protected from the elements. A truly unique and magical experience. You can even book a jacuzzi, massage or champagne. Prices start at €119 in low season and rise to €149 in peak.

Quirky Yurts In France

As part of a European road trip, we also stayed in a yurt. There are a few places in France that offer yurts to stay in, but as I a creative, I particularly liked the way the doors and beams were painted in these. The yurts are located an hour from Avignon close to the lavender farms if you are visiting the fields. There is an outdoor pool and a beach nearby. Prices start at €70 per night in low season and go up to €90 in peak.
